Steve Rockett Appointed By Climax
15th October 2003, 9:37pm
As part of its on-going expansion plans, Climax today confirmed the creation of a high-tech audio department to be headed-up by Steve Rockett. Sited at its Brighton office, the foundation of this new department enables Climax to enrich its many games with high-quality audio and confirms its position as one of the most ambitious and successful development studios in the UK.
With a long and illustrious career producing outstanding music, Climax sees Steve Rockett as the ideal man to lead the new department. Arriving from the hugely successful Rockett Music, Steve brings with him a wealth of experience producing audio for handheld game systems and next generation consoles.
"These are exciting times for everyone involved" declared Steve. "Climax is setting up an audio department to add more dimension to its games. Better audio content in the games will add a new level to context sensitive environments, placing gamers deeper inside the game world. We will also be working with Dolby and the 5.1 surround sound system, which should become commonplace in the years ahead."
As well as working with many developers and publishers during his time at Rockett Music, Steve has also produced all of the audio for Crawfish over the last four years. Among the many games he has worked on are Ecks Vs Sever 1 and 2, Nicktoon Racing, Speedball 2, Defender Of The Crown, Hotwheels World Race, The Italian Job and MotoGP 2.
