Terminal Damage Engine in V8 Supercars 2

PC, Xbox

7th February 2004, 9:57am
V8 Supercars 2 will feature a new Terminal Damage Engine announced by codemasters. To give you an idea what to expect here is part of the released detials. While you read there are 5 PC based screenshots, featuring the damage system.
Racers get both audio and visual cues when damage is inflicted. In addition to the detailed body-panel deformation, paint chips and bits lying on the race track, drivers will be able to hear the gearbox dropping gears, engine clanking, brakes screaming and other internal malfunctions. When your car hurts, you’ll know all about it.

    Terminal Damage Engine overview:
    • Serious collisions result in terminal damage. Your race is over. Re-start.
    • All materials react realistically: glass shatters, metal crumples, and plastic explodes.
    • Superb particle effects, with paint chips, dust, dirt and glass all flying from your vehicle on impact.
    • Based on real-life motorsports crashes.
    • All damage can be seen, heard and felt. But not ignored.
    • Save system ensures it’s tough, but fair: you can restart any race.
I cannot wait for this game. Loved the first one, especially the Australian cars and tracks. Hopefully these new features will improve on the first game.
