Tetris Modes Revealed
DS
26th February 2006, 1:16pm

- In the Zelda-themed 'Mission' mode you'll have a limited amount of time to complete certain objectives, which are displayed on the top screen. If you don't complete them, it's game over.
- In the distinctive Metroid stylings of 'Catch' mode, you earn points by forming 4-by-4 squares of the same colour, instead of lines. Pieces will apparently explode in every direction when you form the block.
- A new 'Puzzle' mode featuring Yoshi contains nearly 200 individual Tetris brainteasers to solve - presumably with a set cycle of pieces to use.
- In the multiplayer 'Push' mode, pieces are sent to your opponent's screen when you clear at least two lines simulataneously. Donkey-Kong is your mascot for these games.
- In 'Balloon Fight Touch' mode, players drag stacks of pieces into place with the touchscreen. There's no gravity, so you have all the time you want to manouevre them around.
