Welcome to the all new Sliced Gaming!

If you've ever wanted a feature on the site, now's the time to tell us! Better yet, if you've ever thought you had the stuff to write a review, do it! We're looking for dedicated staff to join our team. We're in the process of working out who we are, and what we want to do. There'll be a definite focus on quality content this time around, rather than churned our reviews...but is that what you want? Tell us! Hit up the Freshly Sliced Gaming Forums and join our friendly community. Or, if you're forum-phobic, email me or Nick.

Gamebiz as it was no longer exists. I've decided to separate myself from what was Gamebiz, and so has previous staff member Nick Schaedel. Nick, and other previous writers have agreed to carry their content across to this new site, and I thank them for their support in being able to do this. Gamebiz may continue in whatever capacity, however myself, nor any previous members will be associated with that site.

I'll be functioning as the new 'chief editor' as such for this new site, although I hold the title fairly loosely. Things will be a lot less autocratic, with everybody allowed equal roles, and an equal share of any benefits - which was not the case previously. I've been with the old Gamebiz from the very start (and even before Gamebiz), and working behind the scenes at all times developing the structure that you see now over some 4 years. All graphics, all PHP code, and the database structure that was developed by myself over the years of Gamebiz has carried across to this site, as it is rightly owned by myself.

It was disappointing to see Gamebiz go downhill, most especially in the last 6 months from a certain person at the top. Without a strong rudder, the site was starting to wander rather aimlessly at sea. Enough was enough. Trying to change things was going nowhere. At a point you just have to give up on a losing battle, to try and start on a fresh new beginning.

I don't want to go into things too much, nor slag the person involved too much. Let's just say a poor attitude were exhibited by a certain person near the end, at the expense of other people's hard work.

I want to achieve several things in this new venture. Things staff-wise are going to be a lot more egalitarian with what is now Sliced Gaming, and sharing all responsibility and benefits around more equally. Staff will be treated with respect and an open ear at all times. Things really degenerated at the end with the old site, and there wasn't too much motivation by all to continue as it was. Things weren't fun anymore, and without this there seemed little point.

We are looking to provide a higher quality gaming site that what Gamebiz ended up degenerating into. While the quantity of content each week may be a little slower than the old site, I am aiming to make the content a lot better in terms of quality which to me is the most important thing. Longer and more critical reviews, fairer coverage for all systems and platforms, and a more community orientated focus.

Visually, as you've probably noticed, I've touched up the look a little to suit the new Sliced Gaming. I have quite a few ideas for a totally different looking Sliced Gaming in a few months, based on an entirely different style, and more current CSS / XHTML 1.1 design. It should be a great new direction. So enjoy the ride folks!

If you want to discuss anything further, feel free to jump across to the freshly skinned Sliced Gaming Forums and find out more. Your old username should still work.
