VidZone Hits 1 Million Downloads

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that over one million music lovers have now downloaded the new music video streaming application to their PS3. As a result, over 100 million music videos have been streamed across the seven launch territories where the service is available. Since the 
VidZone application launch on 11th June, VidZone is now ranked as the number one most popular download from the PlayStation Network in Australia.

“Expanded entertainment services are one of our ongoing priorities as we know this is what consumers expect from a true next generation games consoles. The very best gaming experiences, partnered with the expansion of compelling non-gaming services, such as free music streaming enabled by VidZone, are part of our ongoing commitment to the entertainment seeking PS3 user,” said Michael Ephraim, Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia.

More than 55% of Australian PS3 owners are now connected to PlayStation Network, from an install base of over 530,000 PS3 consoles in Australia. The top ten videos viewed to date are:
