Virtual Console Patent?
Wii
29th November 2005, 1:47pm

It contains information on how new hardware could play old game titles by emulation, and also lists how the selection system would work. Apparently, the games would be listed by franchises and series, rather than by system. The patent also mentions graphical and content upgrades to existing titles, a topic which Nintendo representatives have spoken of before.
The patent was granted last month. However, some scepticism comes into it when we learn that it was filed in February 2001, so everyone may be getting excited for nothing. Oh well.
