Nintendo has sent out details of what it will be pushing this holiday season, as well as some new numbers for the Australian region. GfK Australia has confirmed more than 1.5 million Nintendo DS systems have been sold in Australia in 194 weeks, making it the fastest selling console to reach this milestone. Their other system, the Wii, has reached the milestone of 750,000 units sell through in 102 weeks, making Wii the fastest selling console to hit this mark. We presume they are talking about handheld and home consoles respectively.

If anything, the Wii seems to be building momentum. Last week, the forty-sixth of 2008, over 35,000 systems were sold, making it the biggest week ever for the console in Australia - even bigger than launch week. Wii Fit was on top of the Wii sales charts for twelve consecutive weeks, and is sure to be in hot demand in December.

Their key Wii products for Christmas this year will be Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City (December 4th) and its accompanying Wii Speak accessory, Wii Music (out now) and Disaster: Day of Crisis (out now). KORG DS-10 Synthesizer (out now), Kirby Super Star Ultra (November 27th) and Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia (out now) will be the big ones on the DS, but I'm not sure if the public will be fighting to get their hands on a professional music synthesiser in the same way that they're hunting down Wii Fit.

Wii Music was the number one selling console game in its launch week, selling through more than 28,000 copies, though World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King did beat it to the number one place.
