Wii Leading Hardware Sales in the US

Preliminary sales data For January for the US has placed the Wii on top in terms of hardware sold. Furthermore, the gap between the Wii and the closest console after is quite considerable.

Microsoft, who released the data, are pleased with the performance of the 360 in the market, stating that "[it] had a fantastic January, and we feel great about our position in the marketplace".

These stats are yet to be verified.

Nintendo Wii - 436, 000 Units
Xbox 360 - 294, 000 Units
