Wireless GBA Gaming
2nd October 2003, 2:36pm
There's a lot of talk going on recently about wireless handheld gaming. Nokia's very proud of its bluetooth technology for wireless multiplayer gaming with its N-gage and then there's the PSP to think about, so where does that leave Nintendo? Nintendo of Japan announced a wireless-enabling device to be released for the Gameboy Adavanced sometime early next year in Japan. It's planned to ship with another installment in the Pokemon franchise.
"We've had a lot of discussions about how to extend the networking capabilities for games such as 'Pokémon', to enhance head-to-head battles, exchange of information and communication with others," said Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in a speech on the opening day of the Tokyo Game Show.
The wireless module will be bundled with Nintendo's upcoming "Pokémon Fire Red" and "Pokémon Leaf Green" (seems like they're running out of names huh).
