Xbox 360 Outsells Xbox 1
Xbox 360

Just a couple of days after the international three year anniversary of the release of the Xbox 360, Microsoft has revealed to MCV that it has overtaken its predecessor's lifetime sales of 25 million units. It looks to be a big holiday season for the platform, with significant price cuts worldwide, a new interface, and a lot of well-received games.
In comparison, the Playstation 3 has sold roughly 17 million units worldwide, while the Wii is sitting at nearly 35 million.

Xbox 360 is making some drastic changes at the moment. Should be interesting to see how much they advertise it to Wii gamers
geez, taken a long time to do that.. the xbox1 was pretty much a failure.
360 is so much better, it should be the clear leader - it's got everything working in it's favour.

Not at all so far, but who knows what MS are planning? The interface is certainly more kid/family friendly now, but the 360 just doesn't have the same appeal as the Wii. The Wii has stacks of kids games, and motion sensing to keep the kids a bit more active, parents just can't go past it. The 360 is cheaper though.
Yeah, the parents get sucked in, and the kids play it twice. What a deal!![]()

Nintendo certainly think so.More seriously though, the fact that Wii Fit is the highest selling game this year says something.

It's a really well put together tool and quite a lot of fun?
Yeah I thought so too!
Can we get over this stupid one console vs. the other crap? Is Microsoft paying you to evangelise their console? No? Then why do you waste the time and effort? All the consoles have their own selling points, and different aspects appeal to different people.
But if we started bashing the 360 nshady would be all over the shit like a horny puppy.

And the Wii's is novelty. If people want to complain about their wasted money on a Wii they can, in my opinion. It really is a fairly bad console.
Who wrote the story? Oh, that's right, I did. What did I do today? Oh, that's right, spent nine hours at a friend's house playing Guitar Hero and Castle Crashers on the Xbox. Find a post of mine where I bash Microsoft or the 360.
I think you'll find the console and company I've been most critical of recently is Nintendo. But there's a difference between presenting a thoughtful post about what you wish Nintendo was doing with their system and throwing out incendiary remarks.

Maybe.
Nintendo sucks.

Nintendo is lolz Sony is roflz Apple is zomgz and MS is lmao
Gotta admit, I hate MS but the 360 isn't a bad piece of hardware, the networking is certainly alot better then the PS3's.
As said, they all have their selling points - 360 is a simple hardcore gamers box, PS3 costs a little more but has much more media options such as Blu_rau and a decent DVD player, Wii is a bit of a kiddy console, but its still alot of fun now and then.
I agree though that the console vs console war is pretty much over, the respective platforms have worked out their places and demographics.

I have seen anything wrong with the 360's DVD player really, it seems alright to me. Blu_rau, gotta love typos.
I actually decided to check out the DVD player in my 360 as a result and I do notice it's not as good as my computer. The images seem to slightly lag due to interlacing or whatever it is. Maybe it's just in older 360s?

My 360 plays DVDs extremely well. They look weird even, not quite blu ray but much better than my other DVD player.
I play them on a 2ms refresh rate screen, maybe that makes a difference? *shrugs*

Might have just been a bung 360 - but mine was f*kin shocking! I had an old Sony DVD player I bought when DVD first became mainstream, and it was poor quality - yet still destroyed the 360.
