Regional director, David McLean had this to say:
"In terms of retail revenue, Xbox 360 has generated around AU $145 million in [Australia/New Zealand] this year. We're pleased to report that despite new competition in the market, sales are showing no signs of slowing down."
"I put this down to a combination of three things - demonstrable value for money backed by powerful hardware, plus a huge range of next-generation games and accessories."
He also added that the 360 has sold over 100,000 units and 400,000 games since its release in March.
Worldwide stats put 360 console sales at nearly 8.5 million. However, since the Wii's initial launch to today, over 1.7 million units have been shipped worldwide. The console wars are heating up, folks!
