First thing you'll notice when first playing this game is how damn fun of a game it really is. Even someone not really into sports or basketball will enjoy this game. I was really surprised how well EA SPORTS did with the sequel to NBA Street Vol. 1. A lot of big improvements were made in the sequel making this the most enjoyable game of 21 that you can possibly experience.

Game Play

I'll start off with the modes available in NBA Steet Vol.2. When you get to the main menu you'll be greeted with options including "Lets play it" this mode will bring you to a new screen with the games playing modes which are "Pick a Game Up", "NBA Challenge", "Be a Legend" and "Learn to be Legend".

The "Pick up Game" mode is a quick game of 21 with your three players of choice from "today's all-stars" and "past time all-stars" vs a human player or cpu of the same generations. After each game you will be rewarded with points by wins, styles of moves during game play, etc when playing in this mode after each game and it will keep track of your record combined with the other modes of play as well into one reward points system for you. I'll get back to the rewards a bit more later on.

Next mode is "NBA Challenge" where you pick a current NBA team and select 3 players of that team to play vs. the cpu. This mode is fun, you play regions rather then sticking to the common NBA schedule and again, with wins and style of juke moves during play you earn points tallied up at the end of each game and saved along with your win/loss record.

The "Be a Legend" mode is fun, you create a team and name your city and the team as well, along with the ability to create your own self to be a player. Once this is done you travel across the states to challenge other teams across the country.

Any real street basket ball player knows the Gus Macker tournaments that are all over the USA, well this mode resembles that greatly and this is why I love this mode so much. You'll take on other teams all over the country plus here and there will be invited into tournaments like the Gus Maker and you enter it with your team which i thought was kick ass. Once you beat a team in this mode you'll be offered to recruit players from the team you just defeated, which is kind of cool because you'll come across some tight players.

Again, you gain reward points for wins, special juke moves in the game, etc and you'll get reward points to spend on cool stuff later on.

Finally the last mode with is "Learn to be a Legend" which is basically like a training mode where your narrator will tell you ... (continued next page)
