Vegas: Make it Big Review - PC
Gameplay
Vegas: Make it Big is played in a very similar fashion to the popular Theme Park World series. From a birds-eye view you are able to see your block of land and the surrounding city, your buildings and attractions, the hundreds of people wandering around and more. You'll need to observe your customers' feelings carefully to get ideas of how happy they are and what they are looking for - after all, not complying with the customers' needs will draw them away to the surrounding gambling complexes.
The game features three main gameplay modes: Campaign, Vegas Training and Sandbox. The Campaign mode takes you through ten levels in which you have multiple objectives; in the earlier levels you'll have simple objectives such as building certain objects and buildings, while in the later levels you'll have to maintain a certain profit level and gain a certain number of customers. The Vegas Training mode takes you through a detailed training session, preparing you for the Campaign by showing you how everything works and how to get your gambling complex off the ground. Finally, the Sandbox mode lets you create and manage a gambling complex for as long as you like, with no objectives to worry about - perfect for those who want a true real-life experience.

There are a few initially available, each featuring a different size and cost, so you'll need to choose one that suits your building and spending plans best. After this you can begin building on your new land via the game's tidy, simple interface that sits at the bottom of the screen. Each type of building is sorted into categories and then broken down further by sub-categories. There are maintenance and management-related buildings available such as head offices, cleaner's closets, restrooms, power generators and more - these help you run your gambling complex and usually should be built first. Then there are the entertainment and activity-related buildings such as casinos, cinemas, souvenir shops, hotels, gyms, discos, arcades, clubs, health spas and the like. And let's not forget the land-related objects such as the various paving, bins, benches, trees and huge neon-lit signs and statues!
There are three types of hotels that can be built, each ranging in size and number of rooms. Playing through the game you'll learn that hotels are quite common and should be built early on as ... (continued next page)
